Noordermarkt

This guide to Noordermarkt in Amsterdam returns to February 1941, days after Nazi soldiers seized four hundred twenty-five Jewish men from the streets nearby, when banned Communist Party organizers gathered on this square after dark to print calls to strike. It follows what began the next morning with the tram drivers and spread through the docks, shops, and schools in the days after.
