Holocaust Memorial & Dutch Theater (Jewish Cultural Quarter)

This guide to the Holocaust Memorial and Dutch Theater in Amsterdam's Jewish Cultural Quarter opens in the summer of 1942, when the Nazis turned a working theater into a holding pen for Jews awaiting deportation, and describes the nursery across the street where children were separated from their parents. It follows Walter Suskind, the man Nazi authorities put in charge of reception here, and the way he began making children disappear from the official records.
