Fuente del Avellano

This guide to the Fuente del Avellano in Granada centers on the diplomat Angel Ganivet, who founded an informal literary club here in 1897, the Cofradia del Avellano, where members gathered nightly to debate literature, art and the future of Spain. A young Federico Garcia Lorca and the composer Manuel de Falla were among those who came, before Ganivet returned to his consular post abroad.
