Palais Pallavicini

This guide to Palais Pallavicini in Vienna starts with a 1949 film crew renaming its doorway Stiftgasse 15 for The Third Man. It goes back to 1784, when the palace was built for the banker Count Johann von Fries, and to the stir caused two years later when sculptor Franz Anton Zauner added four loosely draped caryatids to the entrance.
