This guide to the MIT Museum in Boston introduces artist Arthur Ganson, in residence at MIT since the 1990s, whose kinetic sculpture gallery has stood here since 1995. It follows how a sculptor with no engineering training taught himself gears and worm drives well enough to build motion into philosophy, including a machine rigged from an actual chicken wishbone that seems to walk and gesture on its own.
