Singapore Cable Car

This guide to the Singapore Cable Car traces the line from its opening on the fifteenth of February 1974, when Deputy Prime Minister Goh Keng Swee took the first ride in bright yellow cabin number one, to an evening in January 1983 when a routine crossing of Keppel Harbour coincided with an oil drillship passing beneath the cable line. Look down at the harbour as you ride — more than sixty million passengers have crossed it since that line opened.
