Dostoevsky Museum

This guide to the Dostoevsky Museum in Saint Petersburg returns to the corner apartment on Kuznechny Lane where the writer, finally free of the debts that had haunted him for years, moved back in 1878 to work through the night on his last novel, The Brothers Karamazov. You'll hear about his wife Anna and the desk still standing in the room, before the guide arrives at an ordinary evening in January 1881, when Dostoevsky bent down to search under that same desk for a dropped pen-holder.
