Remuh Synagogue

This guide to the Remuh Synagogue in Kraków opens in the 1550s with a Kraków banker's grief—whether for a lost daughter-in-law or, as some say, his son's mourning for his own wife—and the wooden prayer house that grief raised, then burned.
