Church of St. Anne

This guide to the Church of St. Anne in Kraków opens in 1689, when the university's professors tore down their own church to build something larger on this spot. It traces back to John of Kęty, a theology professor buried here in 1473 who gave away what little he owned and walked to Rome four times on foot, and the stories of quiet generosity that grew up around him after his death. Look for the tomb in the south transept, resting on four carved figures representing the university's faculties.
