Palacio de Mineria

This guide to the Palacio de Mineria in Mexico City centers on El Morito, the largest oriented meteorite ever found, and the eleven words someone carved into its solid iron in 1828, an inscription no one has ever claimed. It follows Antonio del Castillo, the mining engineer who gathered this meteorite and three others into the courtyard in 1893, and the palace itself, built between 1797 and 1813 by architect Manuel Tolsá to train the Spanish crown's mining engineers.
