Bokcheon Musuem

This guide to Bokcheon Museum in Busan begins with a number nobody quite agrees on, and traces it back to 1969, when bulldozers clearing a Dongnae hillside for housing struck a sealed Gaya-era burial chamber. It follows what came out of that unplanned opening, from iron armor and a horse's face-guard to a gilt-bronze crown, and the archaeologists who kept returning to the slope for decades afterward. The museum's own count and the government's official figure, drawn from the same hillside, still don't agree.
