The Oloolua Nature Trail

This guide to the Oloolua Nature Trail outside Nairobi starts at an abandoned wooden platform once built high in the canopy for a crowned eagle pair that researchers hoped to keep nesting there. It follows the Mbagathi River past a waterfall, old colonial-era water pumps still chugging in the forest, and a deep cave said to have sheltered Mau Mau fighters in the 1950s.
