It follows more than a century of life wedged inside that walled hilltop town, until 1815, when the archbishop of Santorini finally let the nuns leave for calmer ground between Imerovigli and Firostefani. The new convent, finished around 1820, was dedicated to three protectors at once: Saint Nicholas, Saint Panteleimon, and Our Lady of the Life Giving Spring.
