Fira to Oia Walk

This guide to the Fira to Oia Walk in Santorini follows the clifftop path along the caldera rim toward a fortress built around 1207 by Venetian architect Giacomo Barozzi, who was handed control of the whole island by the Duke of Naxos. It traces how his rock grew into a bishop's seat and a crowded stone capital of a few hundred houses, before earthquakes through the 1600s and 1700s slowly emptied it out. Along the way you'll pass the white chapel of Theoskepasti clinging to the cliff near Imerovigli.
