Jardin du Rosaire

This guide to the Jardin du Rosaire in Lyon follows architect Pierre Bossan, fresh off building the basilica above it, as he set fifteen terracotta shrines into this hillside in the eighteen sixties so pilgrims could pray the rosary step by step on their way down. You'll hear what Lyon's damp winters did to that project within months, and how the city eventually answered the problem in a very different material.
