Museo del Corpus - Casa de las Rocas

This guide to the Museo del Corpus in Valencia opens with a room built for one purpose, between 1435 and 1448, to shelter the eleven wooden rocas that still roll through the city's Corpus Christi procession each year, carrying a dragon, symbolic eagles and a fanged beast called the Cuca Fera. It follows what happened when Valencia's river burst its banks in 1957 and this dry storeroom filled with water four meters deep, well over the height of the carved animals inside.
