This guide to the Museu Egipci de Barcelona follows hotelier Jordi Clos from a single terracotta figure he bought in a Luxor antiques shop in 1975 through seventeen years of quietly collecting Egyptian pieces on the side. It reaches 1992, when he opened his new Hotel Claris nearby and, almost as an experiment, filled a room with about seventy objects from his private stash for the guests to see.
