Medicinsk Museion

This guide to Medicinsk Museion in Copenhagen opens with a wall of glass jars holding preserved human foetuses, kept for over a century by doctors who believed the dead had lessons for the living. The building began in 1787 as the Royal Academy of Surgery, its domed auditorium modeled on Rome's Pantheon and its tiered wooden benches built for students watching bodies opened on a bare table below.
