Löwenbräukeller - Das Original

This guide to the Loewenbraeukeller in Munich opens on the night of November eighth, nineteen twenty-three, when two thousand armed stormtroopers under Ernst Roehm filled this hall awaiting a signal from across town, while Hitler staged his coup at another beer hall nearby. It follows the building's role across the following two decades, including a bomb plot at that other hall sixteen years later and years when the Nazi party turned to this room instead for its annual speeches. The hall's cast lion crest above the entrance dates to nineteen eleven, older than any of these events.
