Arts on Main

This guide to Arts on Main in Johannesburg starts among five derelict brick warehouses on Fox Street in 2008, once a bonded liquor store and later the offices of builder D.F. Corlett, when young developer Jonathan Liebmann bought the block. It follows architect Enrico Daffonchio's redesign, which kept the double-volume ceilings and factory windows, and artist William Kentridge's decision to take a studio here as the building reopened in 2009.
