Plymouth Congregational Church

This guide to Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove follows one Spanish-born stonemason, Felix Rebom, who spent the 1910s cutting native coral rock by hand with only a hatchet, a trowel and a plumb line. It traces the congregation back two decades earlier to a tiny chapel on land donated by Commodore Ralph Munroe, and the decision to replace it with a Spanish mission design of twin bell towers and cloistered arcades. Rebom finished his solitary work in 1917.
