Melrose Ave Shopping District

This guide to the Melrose Ave shopping district follows artist Colette Miller, who around 2012 painted an unpermitted pair of angel wings on a blank Los Angeles wall, meaning to remind people they are the angels of earth. It traces how photographs of strangers posing between the wings spread online, and how one pair ended up here across from Fairfax High, on a street that had already reinvented itself once from 1980s punk boutiques into today's streetwear and vintage racks.
