GRAMMY Museum

This guide to the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles opens on the afternoon of June 25, 2009, as curators are packing away eight embellished jackets and two bejeweled gloves Michael Jackson had personally lent them for a small exhibit, ready to ship the pieces back to him. Then word starts spreading through the building. The museum's director at the time, Bob Santelli, later noted that the museum sat, that afternoon, in a city that had suddenly become the center of the world's attention.
