Museu de São Roque

This guide to the Museu de Sao Roque in Lisbon centers on one chapel along the quiet nave, commissioned in 1740 by King Joao V at the height of Brazil gold flowing into Lisbon. It follows the Roman craftsmen who spent years assembling it from lapis lazuli, amethyst and rare marbles, and the Pope who celebrated Mass inside it in 1747.
