Objectspace

This guide to Objectspace in Auckland opens with the low status craft held in New Zealand galleries for most of the twentieth century, ranked beneath painting and sculpture. It follows jeweller Warwick Freeman and the makers and curators who founded the gallery in 2004 to judge craft by the same standard as fine art, its twelve years on Ponsonby Road, and its 2017 move into this building on Rose Road.
