Auckland Fish Market

This guide to the Auckland Fish Market traces one immigrant fisherman, Albert Sanford, who arrived in 1864 and began smoking snapper over kauri wood, selling straight off his boat at the Queen Street wharf. It follows his rise from a Federal Street shop to buying the schooner Minnie Casey in 1900, Auckland's first trawler, and incorporating the business four years later.
