Rembrandtpark

This guide to Rembrandtpark in Amsterdam starts with the painter's own 1656 bankruptcy hearing, an inventory of three hundred sixty-three household items, and a debt to a former companion he never repaid. It follows the park's slow arrival decades later, from a 1929 plan through a 1970 design by landscape architect Janneke Willemsen, and comes to rest at a set of sculptures scattered among its trees.
