This guide follows Paul Huf, the Netherlands' first royal court photographer, and his years-long campaign to give Amsterdam a serious photography museum in a canal house on the Keizersgracht. It traces the opening of Foam's first show in December 2001, the crowd of seven thousand who came, and the renovation that joined three historic houses into one gallery.
