Jeju Folk Village 제주민속촌

This guide to Jeju Folk Village traces how, starting in 1987, researchers hunted down the island's oldest surviving houses, some over a century old, dismantled them plank by plank, and rebuilt more than a hundred of them here to recreate life on Jeju in the late Joseon era. It follows the village's later turn as a filming location, when the historical drama Dae Jang Geum shot scenes here in 2003 with its lead actress. Near the entrance, look for the hanbok she wore, displayed behind glass with scripts and herbs.
