Kyū-Iwasaki-tei Gardens

This guide to the Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens in Tokyo traces what businessman Hisaya Iwasaki, son of the Mitsubishi founder, built in 1896 to announce his return from studying in America: a mansion designed by Josiah Conder, the British architect who taught Japan Western architecture.
