Osaka City Central Public Hall

This guide to Osaka City Central Public Hall tells the story of Einosuke Iwamoto, a Kitahama stockbroker known as the righteous man of stock buying, who gave the city a fortune to build a great hall after a trip to America changed how he saw wealth. It follows the young architect chosen in a design competition and the two established names who helped realize his Taisho-era vision, and the collapse of Iwamoto's own fortune before construction finished. Iwamoto never lived to walk through its doors.
