Marizon's guide traces how Japan's only over-water wedding chapel very nearly didn't happen: built on pilings in Hakata Bay in 1989, it spent its first decade as a struggling shopping and dining complex before the original operator collapsed under debt. It follows the new owners who bought the wreck of the building and reimagined it as a chapel facing straight out over the tide, including where its pews and stained glass came from, a two hundred year old English congregation. It's a story about betting on water instead of building around it.
