Tughlaqabad Fort

This guide to Tughlaqabad Fort in Delhi opens in 1325, with Sultan Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq riding home from Bengal furious at a Sufi saint who had defied him over a stepwell and a cut-off oil supply, and the saint's quiet reply: Delhi is still far. It follows the sultan back toward his new capital, to a wooden welcome pavilion built near a village called Afghanpur, and the son who inherited the throne days after the sultan stepped inside it with his younger son.
