Samadh Soamiji Maharaj - Soami Bagh

Samadh Soamiji Maharaj at Soami Bagh in Agra is the still-unfinished memorial to Shiv Dayal Singh, a scholar who emerged from seventeen years of near-total isolation to found the Radha Soami spiritual movement in 1861, teaching across caste and religion until his death in 1878. Construction began in 1908 in the same white Makrana marble as the Taj Mahal, with sapphires, coral, turquoise and lapis lazuli set into pietra dura inlay by generations of Agra's stone carvers.
