Lake Tamblingan

This guide to Lake Tamblingan in Bali starts at a stone temple gate rising straight out of the water, remnant of a village recorded in a bronze inscription from around 900 AD that quietly disappeared. It traces the legend of a wandering holy man whose lake-water cure gave the lake its name, and the shoreline temples survivors built to mark the miracle.
