Funiculaire de Lyon

This guide to the Funiculaire de Lyon centers on an ordinary repair day, the tenth of November, 1932, when two maintenance workers were carrying out checks on a cabin roped off at Fourvière's top station, its motor switched off. It follows what happened next, and steps back to the funicular's opening in 1900, when wooden-bodied cars first hauled first and second class passengers up the same steep slope.
