Mural de la Besada

This guide to the Mural de la Besada in Valencia's Carmen district starts with a stolen photograph: a kiss between two strangers on a London train platform that photographer Alfonso Calza caught in 2012, without ever learning their names. It follows how painter Luis Lonjedo scaled that image onto a grimy Calle de Moret wall, and how Calza filled sixty meters of facade with other candid shots taken in Bremen and Venice. Above the couple's locked mouths, Lonjedo painted a warning: kissing forbidden.
