Church of Santa Catalina

This guide to the Church of Santa Catalina in Seville follows the carved Christ that sculptor Pedro Roldán made in 1687, and the years he spent as a guest three streets away after this Gothic-Mudéjar church, built over a mosque, was locked shut in 2004 over a failing roof. It follows the Virgin of Carmen and Rosario and the brotherhood of Santa Lucía, exiled along with him. Look up at the restored Mudéjar timber ceiling as you listen, and for the mosque's mihrab still hidden beneath the walls.
