Jardins de Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer

This guide to the Jardins de Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer in Barcelona tells the story of Jacint Verdaguer, the priest-poet Catalans called Mossèn Cinto, once hailed as Catalonia's greatest poet. It follows his years as alms chaplain for one of Barcelona's richest families, the controversies that cost him his post in 1893, and the diocese's decision to strip him of the right to celebrate mass before the Church restored his standing around 1898. He died a few years later, in 1902, at a country house above the city.
