Urban Nation

This guide to Urban Nation in Berlin follows a housing foundation's street-art side project, launched in 2013 under Yasha Young, as it grew from painted walls around the city into a case for a permanent museum. You'll hear how architects at the Berlin firm GRAFT reshaped an 1880s building around that idea, and about the more than one hundred fifty artists, from Shepard Fairey to Martha Cooper, whose photographs first carried this culture beyond New York, who filled its opening show in 2017.
