Prelatura

This guide to the Prelatura in Český Krumlov opens with the fire that tore through the prelate's own brewery wing in 1768, ending a brewing tradition begun in 1596. It follows prelate František Kfeller as he rebuilt the gutted wing and brought in painter František Jakub Prokyš to redo the ceiling upstairs. The brewery itself limped on for nearly another century before finally closing its doors in 1865.
