Predigerkirche

This guide to Predigerkirche in Zurich starts with a puzzle overhead: a soaring Gothic tower that looks six centuries old but was only finished in 1900 by the city architect Gustav Gull, modeled on towers that had already collapsed across town at the Grossmunster. It traces the church back to the Dominican friars who built it around 1231 and preached here for close to three hundred years, until the reformer Huldrych Zwingli moved against mendicant preaching from his own pulpit up the hill in the spring of 1524.
