David Lam Park

This guide to David Lam Park traces the life of David See-chai Lam, a Hong Kong banker who arrived in Vancouver in 1967 with no foothold in Canadian business and built one of the city's major development firms. In 1988 he was appointed Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, becoming the first Chinese Canadian and first Asian Canadian ever to hold a vice-regal post in the country. This stretch of False Creek waterfront was once industrial rail yard and an Expo 86 fairground before developer Concord Pacific reshaped it into condo towers and parkland through the 1990s.
