Bata Shoe Museum

This guide to the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto follows Sonja Bata, a Swiss-trained architect who married into the Bata shoe empire in 1946 and spent decades collecting shoes from every corner of the world. By the late 1970s the company had run out of room to store them, and Sonja turned to architect Raymond Moriyama to design a home for the collection.
