House of European History

This guide to the House of European History in Brussels opens with fable murals painted on a waiting-room ceiling for children too frightened to sit still for the dentist, and the American who paid for the clinic without ever visiting Belgium: George Eastman of Kodak. It follows architect Michel Polak's 1930s Art Deco building in Parc Leopold, Eastman's own end before it was finished, and the decades the clinic and then the empty building spent before the European Parliament reopened it as a history museum in 2017.
