Choco-Story Brussels

This guide to Choco-Story Brussels follows Gabrielle Draps, who in 1945 named her husband's family chocolate workshop after Lady Godiva and later opened this museum near the Grand Place to tell chocolate's fuller story. It traces cocoa from the bitter, spiced brew the Maya and Aztecs drank thousands of years ago, through the ship that first carried it to a European court, to the Brussels workshop where chocolatier Jean Neuhaus filled a hollow shell with cream in 1912. Along the way you'll pass a recreated Maya temple just steps from another undressed Brussels icon, the Manneken Pis.
