About this audio guide
This guide to Marvel Stadium in Melbourne opens on the day in March 2000 when a brand new stadium built around its retractable roof hosted its first game, and the roof itself refused to cooperate. It follows the roof's uneven record since, including a stormy afternoon a decade later when a different part of the building failed and sent floodwater into the crowd below. Along the way it covers the stadium's four different names, each tied to a new sponsor, and some of the biggest moments the ground has hosted.
