Saigon Skydeck

This guide to the Saigon Skydeck follows architect Carlos Zapata's decision to build the whole tower around Vietnam's national flower, the lotus, with glass petals swirling up the facade around the observation deck. It lingers on the boldest move above you: a helipad that doesn't sit on the roof like other skyscrapers', but is cantilevered straight out from the fifty-second floor on hundreds of tons of steel. Look up from the deck to trace the curve of that cantilever jutting into open air.
