Bảo tàng Y học Cổ truyền - Traditional Medicine Museum

This guide to the Traditional Medicine Museum in Ho Chi Minh City follows pharmacist Le Khac Tam's twenty-year habit of buying up old grinders and medicine chests, and then his stranger habit of buying entire nineteenth-century houses just to salvage their timber frames into a six-floor museum. It traces the building's completion in 2003 and opening in 2007, with each floor built in the style of a different region of Vietnam. One floor recreates a working herbal pharmacy, its drawers still labeled by hand.
