Hội Thánh Truyền Giáo Cao Đài

This guide traces how a circle of Vietnamese civil servants in 1920s Saigon, inspired by Victor Hugo's own seance transcripts, began running spirit-writing experiments with a pen-fitted basket they called the corbeille a bec, and built a new faith around what came through it. Four mediums known by ritual names like Thanh Long and Bach Ho later carried that same experiment north into central Vietnam, led by a man named Tran Cong Ban. It took more than two decades to gather the resources to build this sanctuary.
